Christmas Events For 2021 in Vancouver Washington And Portland Oregon
There is something about Christmastime that is magical and set apart from any other holiday. Outside of children running to the Christmas tree first thing in the morning and sharing a Christmas dinner with family and friends, Christmas is a time when many gather to enjoy different events over the holiday break and after the pause of 2020, Christmas in 2021 is bringing back all the festivities we have grown to adore and love.
All The Christmas Lights!– Depending on how far or for how long you want to venture there are plenty of houses lit up to the nines with lights set to some of your old favorite Christmas tunes. What’s nice about this activity is that almost all of these neighborhoods and homes allow you to enjoy the experience right from your car as you tune in your radio to their very own Christmas music radio station. One of the more popular showings is on Franklin St. where about ten homes participate in bringing you a very merry and bright Christmas light showcase but there are many other places to choose from as well. Lights usually run from 5-10pm through Christmas and New Years. Check out the website for a list of the areas hosting all the Christmas lights!
Christmas Festival Of Lights– The Grotto may not be on our side of the river but its just a hop, skip and a jump from those of us in Vancouver and provides a traditional Christmas experience that is one to remember. Once you’re done walking the grounds that are filled with lights you can visit the chapel where a variety of choirs will be performing. The Festival of Lights runs from 4:30-9:30 pm and requires tickets which can be found online.
Zoo Lights– Heres an event that everyone can get in on! Zoo lights run through January 5th which makes it great for those who find themselves too busy before Christmas to join in on the Christmas fun. A dazzling show of 1.5 million lights light up the grounds of the zoo where you can walk around and maybe even spot some of the zoo locals. Tickets are encouraged to be bought online and will even save you a few bucks by doing so. Be sure to bundle up!
60th Annual Concert At Christmas– Porltands Center of the Arts presents a beautiful ensemble featuring all of Porltand youths Philharmonic’s. This years theme is far off places and showcases on December 26th. Tickets can be purchased online and the event is family friendly.
The Nutcracker– The Nutcracker is a ballet performance that has been running for decades at the Keller Auditorium. People of all ages are welcome and even the littles will be wide eyed with wonder at this beautiful performance. Tickets can be purchased online and are sold through December 26th. Times will vary.
Whatever Christmas events you choose to experience we hope you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas and as always, a very happy New Year!
